Submissions and Guidelines for Authors
Instructions to Authors
Please read these instructions carefully and follow them to ensure that the review of your submission is undertaken as efficiently and expeditiously as possible. The editors reserve the right to return manuscripts that are not in accordance with these instructions. The editors also welcome ideas from prospective contributors to discuss ideas for articles and book reviews before submission.

Submission deadlines and Review process
The deadline for submissions to the Arab Yearbook of Public & Private International Law is on October 1st of every year. However, submissions will be considered on a rolling basis throughout the year. The yearbook is submitted to the publisher in May of every year and is scheduled to be printed and published the following Fall.
The Arab Yearbook of Public & Private International Law is a double blind peer-review publication. The editors strive to decide on submissions and communicate decisions to authors within 6-8 weeks of the submission. If a submission is accepted, the editors will transmit any comments or suggested revisions to the author. The author will generally be granted 2-4 weeks to return the revised submission. The editors reserve the right to rescind the offer of publication until the final publication contract is concluded between the parties.
Word limit
Manuscripts should generally be in the range of 10,000-15,000 words for articles; 7,000-10,000 words for notes or comments; and 2,000-3,000 words for book or case reviews (all word counts are inclusive of footnotes). However, other submissions that are not within these limits may be considered for publication, especially if they address issues of particular pertinence for the Arab Yearbook of Public & Private International Law.
Manuscript format and structure
- The first page of the manuscript must include the following:
- Title of paper, which should be in small caps, centered.
- Name(s) of author(s), which should be in title-case, small-caps, centered.
- Academic, professional, or other affiliations of author(s).
- The name(s) of the author(s) should appear immediately under the title of the paper, with an asterisked footnote giving the author affiliations and an address (including email) for contact by readers, together with any desired acknowledgments.
- Authors are permitted to include a table of contents if this clarifies the structure of the article.
- An abstract of around 100-200 words and key words.
Citation Style and References
The Arab Yearbook of Public & Private International Law uses The Bluebook: A Uniform System of Citation.
Copyright permissions and license
Permission to reproduce copyright material, for print and online publication in perpetuity, must be cleared and, if necessary, paid for by the author. The author is also responsible for providing to the editors written evidence of such permissions from the rights-holder. It is also the author’s responsibility to include acknowledgements as stipulated by the particular institutions.
